Sonja firmly believes in story telling as a form of therapy and empowerment. She hopes that sharing her story with you today, will be uplifting and maybe help someone on their journey. 

Her professional singing career started in 1975 when her first Afrikaans single ”Ek verlang na jou” which became an overnight success. Over the past 46 years she released 35 albums of which 11 reached gold status. 

She received 8 SARIE awards, a Rapport Oscar for her role in the movie” Sing vir die Harlekyn and various Lifetime Achievement Awards, the Rapport City press woman of the year award in 2006 and she was invited to perform on Dutch TV.

Two of her songs also featured on the Belgium hit parades. 

But in this video she wants to share with you the journey of finding her voice,  how she became the best authentic version of herself. 

A journey which she thinks, we all need to pursue…..
